From a weekend of surfing to a well-deserved spa break, Fistral Beach Hotel is a romantic, adults-only resort on the quieter end of Newquay, with one of the best views of the iconic Fistral Beach.

This beachside hotel’s interior has been designed to reflect its position on the coast, with a colour palette of soft blues, greens, grey and coral, occasionally punctured by bold and contemporary furniture and décor, creating a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere throughout. Each bedroom is decorated with colours of the sea, further emphasising the hotel’s coastal location. All guests have access to the Vitality Suite, which has an indoor pool with massage jet, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, along with a well-equipped fitness gym.

Fistral Beach Hotel - Dune Restaurant

HOW ABOUT THE FOOD?
The in-house Dune Restaurant, led by head chef Daniel Kerr, was awarded two AA rosettes in 2023. It serves a coast-inspired seasonal menu
that features delicious seafood and meats, along with the best local produce, and has an extensive wine list to match.

For a less formal affair, Bay Bar is another option for dining, offering great coffee, cocktails and a varied menu of lighter meals, pizzas and sandwiches, all made with locally sourced ingredients.  A signature ‘Storm in a Teacup’ afternoon tea (£25 per person) is served daily from noon to 4pm.

HOW ECO-FRIENDLY IS IT?
The hotel uses only recycled paper where required, and preserves energy and water by using 90% CFL or LED light, and water-efficient washers. There is EV charging in the car park.

As a family-owned hotel, Fistral Beach is committed to sustainable practices. This is not just for the sake of the environment, but also for the local community, both socially and economically. It employs local people, uses local contractors for refurbishments, and supports local businesses wherever possible, to ensure that the hotel’s operation benefits the community.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO?
Those who fancy taking on the waves can learn to surf at the hotel’s family-owned Quiksilver Surf School, which is located at Fistral Beach’s sister hotel The Esplanade. Lessons cost from £45 per person for a two-hour group session, with wetsuit and board hire included in the price. (quiksilversurfschoolnewquay.com)
