Leona Gerrard visits the Isle of Eriska Hotel and Spa

WHAT’S THE BUZZ?
The 300-acre Isle of Eriska is located at the mouth of Loch Creran, a marine site that has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation. From the hotel, you can wander out along the many walking trails or try your hand at archery, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. A recent addition is Eriska’s Hilltop Reserves, two luxurious eco-friendly and luxurious lodges with hot tubs, under floor heating and state-of-the-art kitchens.

WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE?
Chic, contemporary and spacious, some with loch views.

ANY LUXURIOUS TOUCHES?
Comfortable king-size beds with quality linens, ice water in the room, Molton Brown products in the bathroom and complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate brought to your room in the morning. There is an on-site spa and swimming pool, with fresh towels and Molton Brown shampoos and body lotions. The lounge area in the main house serves afternoon tea, where you can sit and enjoy the extensive library and roaring fires.

BEST SEA VIEW?
From the rooms on the top floor of the house. From our hotel room window, you could see the loch in the distance, which is just a short stroll from the main house. Here we spotted red eagles, otters and badgers.

HOW ABOUT THE FOOD?
The award-winning restaurant serves an array of delicious dishes, varying each night and prepared to perfection by Head Chef Ernst van Zyl.

WHAT WILL IT COST?
From £315 per night in low season, and from £420 per night in high season, based on two people sharing and inclusive of full Scottish breakfast. eriska-hotel.co.uk
