Alex Fisher visits this super stylish hotel in the busy city of Brighton

WHAT’S THE BUZZ?
This hotel is a constantly evolving work of art. It has 24 stylish rooms, some of which recently had makeovers by artists Fox Fisher, Charlie Anderson, Maria Rivans and Jessica Albarn. Now housing one of the best restaurants in Brighton, along with the two top cocktail bars, it’s one of our favourite hotels in this busy city.

ANY LUXURIOUS TOUCHES?
Fluffy robes and organic Bramley skincare products are provided, and there are roll-top baths in some rooms. There’s also free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and modern four-posters in the biggest rooms.

WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE?
One side of the building has a selection of individual rooms designed by different local artists, the side other has cool, but sophisticated décor: think rustic, vintage furniture, matched with lux gold and bronze fittings and Art Deco prints on velvet cushions. Charlotte Salisbury, co-founder of the Artist Residence group, uses her own excellent taste to bring all these disparate elements together in a beautifully, comprehensive fashion.

BEST SEA VIEW?
The Bigger Sea View with Balcony room has the best view through an elegant bay window.

HOW ABOUT THE FOOD?
The Set offers a tasting menu of unusual dishes ranging from crab, haddock, pumpkin and hazelnut to partridge, black pudding, quince and hispi. Inventive and unique, just like the hotel itself.

WHAT WILL IT COST?
Double rooms start from £95 per night.
