The coastline stretching from Brixham around Start Point to Plymouth is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with charming harbour towns such as Dartmouth, Salcombe, and Brixham, and the River Yealm, all best accessed by boat. On this two-night break, you’ll have opportunities to go ashore and explore beloved seaside towns, and to experience the coastline from the water, providing a unique perspective of this beautiful county.
With hands-on instruction from an experienced skipper, you’ll learn new skills, including basic navigation, chart reading, compass use, and plotting courses. Escape’s gaff rig is a traditional yet simple setup, making her an excellent vessel for beginners to learn the ropes.
Above decks, there is ample space to sit out, relax and enjoy the views. A comfy, cushioned cockpit is a great place to sit and watch the landscape go by as you feel the wind in the sails. Below decks, there are two single bunks set off the saloon, with a double bed and toilet in the fore.

VENTURESAIL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The prize is for two people, and travel must be on a guaranteed 2-night voyage running between April 2025 and September 2026, subject to availability. The prize winner will be responsible for arranging and paying for travel costs before and after the voyage. The winner will need to buy adequate travel insurance for this holiday. The winner must be suitably fit, in good health, and able to climb a 2m ladder. If you are not, you will not be awarded this prize, and no alternative will be given. You will be required to complete a medical declaration. The prize is non-transferable. Entrants must be over the age of 18. VentureSail reserves the right to amend the terms of this prize without notice. The prize will be bound by our standard booking terms and conditions from points 3-8, and points 11-23.
