This new nautical stamp set designed by coast illustrator Andy Tuohy features major ports from all over the world
Travelling by boat has always been a luxury. Whether it’s holidaying on a plush cruise-liner, lunch on a swish yacht, or even just the thrill of being at sea. Recently, this extravagant sea travel has inspired a new design for Royal Mail stamps.
The new Sea Travel stamps have been created by coast illustrator Andy Tuohy and are overprinted with First Class values. Each one in the six-stamp set depicts a major global port, all chosen for being iconic. Skyscrapers loom over Hong Kong and New York, the ports of Ha Long Bay, Sydney and Venice are instantly recognizable, and last but not least, the White Cliffs of Dover have been synonymous with sea travel for centuries. Have a browse through the gallery below to see all six designs.
The Sea Travel stamp set is part of the Post & Go service, which means it will be available from new self-service kiosks being installed into Post Offices throughout the UK. There are currently 700 in use that print and dispense stamps on demand.
