2023 will mark the 15th edition of Landscape Photographer of the Year – the UK’s most popular photography competition that celebrates the UK’s most stunning landscapes.  

Britain’s most challenging photography competition sees photographers scaling mountains, wading rivers, battling snowstorms, chasing sunsets and clambering up skyscrapers to capture the most beautiful locations in the UK.

Started 15 years ago by world-renowned photographer Charlie Waite, the grandfather of UK landscape photography, Landscape Photographer of the Year is an annual celebration of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the UK, be they urban, industrial, coastal or countryside.

Entries to the 15th edition of the award are currently open for photographers young and old, experienced and amateur, to be in with a chance of being named Landscape Photographer of the year 2023. With a prize fund worth over £20,000, inclusion in a stunning coffee table book and inclusion a nationwide photography exhibition, photographers have until 31st May 2023 to enter online, with the winning photographers announced at an award ceremony in October. One of the best photography competitions for encouraging young photography, the prize also celebrates the best landscape photography taken by people aged 16 and under. The Young Landscape Photographer of the Year award is open to all and aims to inspire profound engagement with the British landscape through photography.
