One of our favourite photography competitions – Wildlife Photographer of the Year – is now open for 2015 entries. Words Ginny Weeks.

It's become somewhat of an annual tradition for us Coasties to go and visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in London – fabulous as it is – but this year we've taken our involvement up a notch with an entry into the 2015 competition. Why don't you join us?

Here's all you need to know:

Open to young, amateur and professional photographers worldwide, the 51st Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition is now open for entries until 26th February 2015

Entrants are invited to explore the diversity of the world's flora and fauna, whether shot in the remote wilderness, a bustling metropolis, or a back garden. As well as 21 categories to choose from (for both adults and younger photographers alike), there are two special awards: TIMElapse photography and WILD-I (stories caught on mobile devices).

By taking part, photographers get the chance to win a trip to London to take centre stage at the 51st Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards, as well as enjoy public exposure of their image as it tours across the world in the annual exhibition.
