A special 10th anniversary edition photography book offers a collection of some of the most thoughtful and extraordinary images of our seashore. Compiled by Alex Fisher

When photographer Charlie Waite first conceived the idea of the Landscape Photographer of the Year Award he wanted to create an ‘on-going platform for capturing images that best symbolise our land and our times, and that will stand as a record of our country’. With a combined prize value of around £20,000, the competition quickly became one of the most prestigious in the country, and now, 10 years after its conception, the resulting archive is available in a new coffee table book. Here, you will find some extraordinary, breath-taking and intriguing views of our shores.

AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL
The competition invites images of the UK, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands from both professional and amateur photographers, so not only can our contributors enter, but so can our readers! In this feature we have selected some of our favourite images from the past 10 years, so take a look and see if they inspire you to submit your own photos.

Entries are now open for the 11th competition, and the closing date is 8 July 2017. If you are selected, please keep us posted!

For more information about entering, go to take-a-view.co.uk.
